Footloose – Kenny Loggins

Thirty years ago this week, Footloose by Kenny Loggins reached its highest position of number 6 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 28 and broke into the top 10 a week later. After one week at its peak position, the song fell to number 7 for a final week in the top 10 and then dropped into the lower top 40 for the last three weeks of its chart life.

Footloose was released on the CBS record label and was the only top 10 hit for Kenny Loggins in the UK. It was written for the film of the same name and appeared on its soundtrack album. The single was a US number 1.
