I Believe In A Thing Called Love – Darkness

This week in 2003, I believe in a thing called love by the Darkness entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 2. After one week at its peak position, the song started to slide down the chart but stayed in the top 10 for another three weeks. It then spent the final seven weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

I believe in a thing called love was released on the Must Destroy record label and was the first of five UK top 10 hits for the Darkness. It was taken from the quadruple-platinum-selling album Permission to land, which spent four weeks at the top of the UK albums chart.
