Ten years ago this week, Hey whatever by Westlife entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 4. After one week at its peak position, the song dropped out of the top 10 and spent the final four weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

Hey whatever was released on the S record label and was the fifteenth of twenty-five top 10 hits for Westlife in the UK. It was included on the double-platinum-selling album Turnaround, which spent one week at the top of the UK albums chart later in 2003.
