Twenty years ago this week, Open your heart by M People entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 9, having entered the top 40 the previous week at number 11. After just one week in the top 10, the song slipped into the lower top 40 for the final three weeks of its chart life.

Open your heart was released on the Deconstruction record label and was the seventh of ten UK top 10 hits for M People. It was taken from the quintuple-platinum-selling album Bizarre fruit, which peaked at number 4 in the UK albums chart.
