This week in 1984, Break dance party by Break Machine entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 9, having entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 32. After one week in the top 10, the song dropped into the lower top 40 for the final four weeks of its chart life.

Break dance party was released on the Record Shack record label and was the second of two UK top 10 hits for Break Machine. It was taken from the album Break machine, which peaked at number 17 in the UK album chart.
