Doctor Doctor – Thompson Twins

Thirty years ago this week, Doctor doctor by the Thompson Twins was at its highest position of number 3 in the UK singles chart for the second of two weeks. It had entered the top 40 three weeks previously at number 18 and broke into the top 10 a week later. After falling from its peak position, the song stayed in the top 10 for another two weeks, one of them in the top 5, and then dropped into the lower top 40 for the final three weeks of its chart life.

Doctor doctor was released on the Arista record label and was the fourth of five UK top 10 hits for the Thompson Twins. It was taken from the double-platinum-selling album Into the gap, which spent three weeks at the top of the UK albums chart. The single was certified silver.
