Fifty years ago this week, Hello little girl by the Fourmost reached its highest position of number 9 in the UK singles chart in its sixth week in the top 40 and first in the top 10. After one week at its peak position, the song dropped out of the top 10 and spent the final five weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

Hello little girl was released on the Parlophone record label and was the first of two UK top 10 hits for the Fourmost. The song was written by John Lennon in 1957 and was first recorded by the Beatles as a demo in 1962.
