Hole in the head by the Sugababes entered the UK singles chart at number 1 ten years ago this week, replacing Where is the love? by the Black Eyed Peas. The song spent one week at the top of the chart then made way for Be faithful by Fatman Scoop featuring the Crooklyn Clan.
After falling from the top spot, the single stayed in the top 10 for another three weeks, one of them in the top 5. A further three weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.
Hole in the head was released on the Island record label and was the third UK number 1 hit for the Sugababes. It was the first track taken from the double-platinum-selling album Three, which peaked at number 3 in the UK albums chart.
