This week in 2003, Carnival Girl by Texas featuring Kardinal Offishall entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 9. After one week in the top 10, the song dropped into the lower top 40 for the final two weeks of its chart life.

Carnival girl was released on the Mercury record label and was the eleventh UK top 10 hit for Texas and the first for Kardinal Offishall. It was the first track taken from Texas’s album Careful what you wish for, which reached number 5 in the UK albums chart later in 2003.
