Ten years ago this week, Baby boy by Beyonce featuring Sean Paul entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 2. After just one week in the top 10, the song spent the final five weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

Baby boy was released on the Columbia record label and was the fourth top 10 hit for Beyonce in the UK and the fifth for Sean Paul. It was taken from Beyonce’s double-platinum-selling album Dangerously in love, which spent five weeks at the top of the UK albums chart and was also a US number 1. The single also topped the US chart.
