This week in 2003, Time is running out by Muse entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 8. After one week in the top 10, the song slipped into the lower top 40 for the final three weeks of its chart life.

Time is running out was released on the East West record label and was the first UK top 10 hit for Muse. It was the first track taken from the platinum-selling album Absolution, which spent one week at the top of the UK albums chart.
