Forty years ago this week, No more Mr nice guy by Alice Cooper was at its highest position of number 10 in the UK singles chart for the second of two weeks. It had entered the top 40 four weeks previously at number 32. After two weeks in the top 10, the song slipped into the lower top 40 for the final three weeks of its chart life.
No more Mr nice guy was released on the Warner Brothers record label and was the fourth of five top 10 hits for Alice Cooper in the UK. It was taken from the album Billion dollar babies, which spent one week at the top of the UK album chart and was also a US number 1.
The song returned to the top 40 in 1990. A cover version by Megadeth in that year reached number 13.
