This week in 1973, Hello! Hello! I’m back again by Gary Glitter was at its highest position of number 2 in the UK singles chart for the third and final week. It had entered the top 40 four weeks previously at number 17 and broke into the top 10 a week later. After falling from its peak position, the song stayed in the top 10 for another three weeks and then dropped into the lower top 40 for the last five weeks of its chart life.

Hello! Hello! I’m back again was released on the Bell record label and was the fourth of twelve UK top 10 hits for Gary Glitter. It was included on the silver-selling album Touch me, which peaked at number 2 in the UK album chart later in 1973. The single was also certified silver.
