We Are Detective – Thompson Twins

Thirty years ago this week, We are detective by the Thompson Twins reached its highest position of number 7 in the UK singles chart in its fourth week in the top 40 and second in the top 10. After one week at its peak position, the song fell to number 8 for a final week in the top 10. A further two weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.

We are detective was released on the Arista record label and was the second of five UK top 10 hits for the Thompson Twins. It was taken from the platinum-selling album Quick step & side kick, which peaked at number 2 in the UK albums chart.
