The House That Jack Built – Tracie

Thirty years ago this week, The house that Jack built by Tracie entered the UK top 10 at number 9, having entered the top 40 three weeks previously at number 38. This was the highest position the song achieved as it dropped out of the top 10 a week later. The record then spent the final three weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

The house that Jack built was released on the Respond record label and was the only UK top 10 hit for Tracie. It was not included on an album at the time but was added to later releases of the 1984 album Far from hurting kind, which did not enter the UK top 40.
