Gimme The Light – Sean Paul

Ten years ago this week, Gimme the light by Sean Paul re-entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 5. It had first entered the top 40 in September 2002 when it had spent one week at number 32. After one week at its peak position, the song slipped out of the top 10 but spent another five weeks in the lower top 40 before leaving the chart.

Gimme the light was released on the VP / Atlantic record label and was the first top 10 hit for Sean Paul in the UK. It was included on the double-platinum-selling album Dutty rock, which peaked at number 2 in the UK albums chart later in 2003.
