Ten years ago this week, Cry me a river by Justin Timberlake entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 2. After one week at its peak position, the song fell to number 3 for a week and then rose back to number 2 for one final week. The record then spent another two weeks in the top 10 before dropping into the lower top 40 for the last five weeks of its chart life.
Cry me a river was released on the Jive record label and was the second top 10 hit for Justin Timberlake in the UK. It was taken from quintuple-platinum-selling album Justified, which spent seven weeks at the top of the UK albums chart.
