Sixty years ago this week, Robin Hood by Gary Miller entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 10, having entered the top 20 three weeks previously at number 20. After just one week in the top 10, the song dropped into the lower top 20 for the final two weeks of its chart life.
Robin Hood was released on the Pye Nixa record label and was the only UK top 10 hit for Gary Miller. The song was the theme from the television series The adventures of Robin Hood and was also recorded in 1956 by Dick James who took it to number 14.
