This week in 1974, Too good to be forgotten by the Chi-Lites entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 10, having entered the top 40 four weeks previously at number 39. After one week at its peak position, the song dropped out of the top 10 and spent the final five weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

Too good to be forgotten was released on the Brunswick record label and was the third of six top 10 hits for the Chi-Lites in the UK. It was taken from the album Chi-Lites, which did not enter the UK albums chart.

The song returned to the top 40 in 1986 when Amazulu recorded a cover version. The single peaked at number 5.
