Forty years ago this week, Who do you think you are by? Candlewick Green reached its highest position of number 21 in the UK singles chart, having entered the top 40 the previous week at number 28. After one week at its peak position, the song started to slide down the chart but remained in the top 40 for another three weeks.
Who do you think you are? was released on the Decca record label and was the only UK top 40 hit for Candlewick Green. The original version of the song was recorded by Jigsaw for their album I’ve seen the film, I’ve read the book. It was later covered by Saint Etienne and reached number 23 in the UK chart in 1993.
