Fifty years ago this week, Shindig by the Shadows reached its highest position of number 6 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 three weeks previously at number 32 and broke into the top 10 two weeks later. After one week at its peak position, the song fell to number 8 for a final week in the top 10 and then spent the last six weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.
Shindig was released on the Columbia record label. It was the thirty-first of forty-one top 10 hits for the Shadows in the UK.
