Ten years ago this week, Can’t hold us down by Christina Aguilera featuring Lil’ Kim entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 6. After one week at its peak position, the song dropped out of the top 10 and spent the final five weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

Can’t hold us down was released on the RCA record label and was the ninth UK top 10 hit for Christina Aguilera and the second for Lil’ Kim. It was taken from Aguilera’s sextuple-platinum-selling album Stripped, which peaked at number 2 in the UK albums chart.
