This week in 1973, Wonderful dream by Anne-Marie David was at its highest position of number 13 in the UK singles chart for the second of three weeks, having entered the top 40 three weeks previously at number 28. After falling from its peak position, the song stayed in the top 40 for another four weeks and then left the chart.
Wonderful dream was released on the Epic record label and was the only top 40 hit for Anne-Marie David in the UK. It was the winning entry for Luxembourg in the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest where it was sung in French as Tu te reconnaîtras (You will recognise yourself in English). The song finished six points and two places ahead of the UK entry, Power to all our friends by Cliff Richard.
