Twenty years ago this week, Sweet harmony by the Beloved was at its highest position of number 8 in the UK singles chart for the second of two weeks. It had entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 9. After its second week at its peak position, the song fell to number 10 for a final week in the top 10 and then spent the last three weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.
Sweet harmony was released on the East West record label and was the only UK top 10 hit for the Beloved. It was taken from the gold-selling album Conscience, which peaked at number 2 in the UK albums chart.
