This week in 2003, The opera song (brave new world) by Jurgen Vries featuring CMC (Charlotte Church) entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 3. After one week at its peak position, the song started to slide down the chart but remained in the top 10 for one more week. A further five weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.

The opera song (brave new world) was released on the Direction record label. It was the only UK top 10 hit for Jurgen Vries but the first of three for Charlotte Church.
