Twenty years ago this week, Feed the tree by Belly entered the UK singles chart at number 32. This was the highest position the song achieved as it dropped out of the top 40 a week later.
Feed the tree was released on the 4AD record label and was the first of three top 40 hits for Belly in the UK. It was taken from the silver-selling album Star, which peaked at number 2 in the UK albums chart.
