This week in 1956, Pickin’ a chicken by Eve Boswell entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 9, having entered the top 25 five weeks previously at number 25. After one week at its peak position , the song fell to number 15 for a week and then left the chart, although it returned on two occasions in 1956 for another six weeks in the top 30.
Pickin’ a chicken was released on the Parlophone record label. It was the only top 10 hit for Eve Boswell in the UK.
