Forty years ago this week, Evil woman by the Electric Light Orchestra entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 10, having entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 27. After just one week in the top 10, the song spent the final four weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.
Evil woman was released on the Jet record label and was the third of fifteen top 10 hits for the Electric Light Orchestra in the UK. It was taken from the album Face the music, which did not enter the UK albums chart.
