Twenty years ago this week, You do something to me by Paul Weller entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 9. After one week in the top 10, the song dropped into the lower top 40 for the final four weeks of its chart life.
You do something to me was released on the Go! Discs record label and was the second of five UK top 10 hits for Paul Weller. It was taken from the quadruple-platinum-selling album Stanley Road, which spent one week at the top of the UK albums chart.
