Ten years ago this week, Can’t stand me now by the Libertines entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 2. After one week at its peak position, the song left the top 10 and spent the final two weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.
Can’t stand me now was released on the Rough Trade record label and was the first of two UK top 10 hits for the Libertines. It was taken from the platinum-selling album The Libertines, which spent one week at the top of the UK album chart.
