This week in 1984, It’s a hard life by Queen entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 6, having entered the top 40 the previous week at number 23. After one week at its peak position, the song fell to number 9 for a final week in the top 10. A further four weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.
It’s a hard life was released on the EMI record label and was the fourteenth UK top 10 hit for Queen. It was taken from the platinum-selling album The works, which peaked at number 2 in the UK albums chart.
