Ten years ago this week, Friday’s child by Will Young entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 4. After one week at its peak position, the song spent the final four weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.

Friday’s child was released on the S record label and was the seventh UK top 10 hit for Will Young. It was taken from a quintuple-platinum-selling album of the same name that spent two weeks at the top of the UK album chart.
