Sixty years ago this week, Wish you were here by Eddie Fisher entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 8, having entered the top 12 two weeks previously at number 11. After one week at its peak position, the song dropped out of the top 10 for two weeks but then returned for one final week at number 9. A further three weeks at number 12 followed before the record left the chart.
Wish you were here was released on the HMV record label and was the fifth of eight top 10 hits for Eddie Fisher in the UK. The single was a US number 1.
