Thirty years ago this week, Watching you, watching me by David Grant was at its highest position of number 10 in the UK singles chart for the second of two weeks. It had entered the top 40 four weeks previously at number 40. After two weeks in the top 10, the song dropped into the lower top 40 for the final three weeks of its chart life.
Watching you, watching me was released on the Chrysalis record label and was the first of two top 10 hits for David Grant in the UK. It was included on Grant’s eponymous debut album, which peaked at number 32 in the UK albums chart later in 1983.
