This week in 1995, 3 is family by Dana Dawson reached its highest position of number 9 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 19 and broke into the top 10 a week later. After one week at its peak position, the song dropped out of the top 10 and spent the final three weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.
3 is family was released on the EMI record label and was the only top 10 hit for Dana Dawson in the UK. It was included on the album Black butterfly, which did not enter the UK albums chart.
