Ten years ago this week, It’s like that by Mariah Carey entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 4. After one week at its peak position, the song started to slide down the chart but stayed in the top 10 for another two weeks. A further four weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.
It’s like that was released on the DEF Jam record label and was the twenty-first top 10 hit for Mariah Carey in the UK. It was taken from the double-platinum-selling album The emancipation of Mimi, which peaked at number 7 in the UK album chart and was a US number 1.
