This week in 2005, Giving you up by Kylie entered the UK singles chart at its highest position of number 6. After just one week in the top 10, the song dropped into the lower top 40 for the final four weeks of its chart life.

Giving you up was released on the Parlophone record label and was the twenty-ninth top 10 hit for Kylie Minogue in the UK. It was a new track added to the triple-platinum-selling compilation album Ultimate Kylie, which peaked at number 4 in the UK album chart.
