This week in 1965, Goodbye my love by the Searchers reached its highest position of number 4 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 three weeks previously at number 13 and broke into the top 10 a week later. After one week at its peak position, the song dropped out of the top 10 and spent the final four weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.
Goodbye my love was released on the Pye record label. It was the last of six top 10 hits for the Searchers in the UK.
