This week in 1975, Fancy pants by Kenny reached its highest position of number 4 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 four weeks previously at number 36 and broke into the top 10 two weeks later. After one week at its peak position, the song started to slide down the chart but stayed in the top 10 for another two weeks. A further two weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.
Fancy pants was released on the RAK record label and was the second of three UK top 10 hits for Kenny. It was included on the album The sound of super K, which failed to enter the UK album top 40 in 1976, peaking at number 56.
