Don’t stop (wiggle wiggle) by the Outhere Brothers replaced Love can build a bridge by Cher, Chrissie Hynde and Neneh Cherry with Eric Clapton at the top of the UK singles chart this week in 1995, having entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 9. It spent just one week at number 1 and then made way for Back for good by Take That.
After falling from the top spot, the song stayed in the top 10 for another six weeks, five of them in the top 5. It then dropped into the lower top 40 for the final four weeks of its chart life.
Don’t stop (wiggle wiggle) was released on the Eternal record label and was the first of two number 1 hits for the Outhere Brothers in the UK. It was included on the album 1 polish 2 biscuits and a fish sandwich, which failed to enter the UK album top 40 later in 1995, peaking at number 56
