Thirty years ago this week, Love kills by Freddie Mercury entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 10, having entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 27. After one week at its peak position, the song spent the final three weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.
Love kills was released on the CBS record label and was the first of six top 10 hits for Freddie Mercury in the UK. It was included in the 1984 restoration of the 1927 film Metropolis and appeared on its soundtrack album.
