This week in 1984, If it happens again by UB40 entered the UK top 10 at its highest position of number 9, having entered the top 40 two weeks previously at number 33. After one week at its peak position, the song dropped into the lower top 40 for the final four weeks of its chart life.
If it happens again was released on the DEP International record label and was the seventh of seventeen UK top 10 hits for UB40. It was taken from the silver-selling album Geffrey Morgan, which peaked at number 3 in the UK album chart.
