Thirty years ago this week, On the wings of love by Jeffrey Osborne reached its highest position of number 11 in the UK singles chart, having entered the top 40 four weeks previously at number 38. After one week at its peak position, the song started to slide down the chart but remained in the top 40 for another four weeks.
On the wings of love was released on the A&M record label and was the second of two top 40 hits for Jeffrey Osborne in the UK. It was taken from his eponymous debut album, which did not enter the UK album chart.
