This week in 1984, Searchin’ by Hazell Dean reached its highest position of number 6 in the UK singles chart in its fifth week in the top 40 and second in the top 10. After one week at its peak position, the song slipped into the lower top 40 for the final four weeks of its chart life.
Searchin’ was released on the Proto record label and was the first of three top 10 hits for Hazell Dean in the UK. It was taken from the album Heart first, which did not enter the UK album chart.
