Sixty years ago this week, Bell bottom blues by Alma Cogan was at number 6 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 12 five weeks previously at number 10 and reached its highest position of number 4 two weeks later. The song spent eight weeks in the top 10 and then fell to number 11 for a final week in the top 12.
Bell bottom blues was released on the HMV record label. It was the first of four UK top 10 hits for Alma Cogan.
