This week in 1964, Tell me when by the Applejacks was at its highest position of number 7 in the UK singles chart for the first of two weeks. It had entered the top 40 five weeks previously at number 29 and broke into the top 10 four weeks later. After falling from its peak position, the song dropped out of the top 10 and spent the final four weeks of its chart life in the lower top 40.
Tell me when was released on the Decca record label and was the only UK top 10 hit for the Applejacks. It was taken from the band’s eponymous debut album, which did not enter the UK chart.
