This week in 1974, Remember (sha-la-la) by the Bay City Rollers reached its highest position of number 6 in the UK singles chart. It had entered the top 40 three weeks previously at number 38 and broke into the top 10 two weeks later. After one week at its peak position, the song started to slide down the chart but remained in the top 10 for another two weeks. A further three weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.
Remember (sha-la-la) was released on the Bell record label and was the second of ten UK top 10 hits for the Bay City Rollers. It was included on the platinum-selling album Rollin’, which spent four weeks at the top of the UK album chart later in 1974. The single was certified silver.
