This week in 1974, Rebel rebel by David Bowie was at its highest position of number 5 in the UK singles chart for the first of two weeks. It had entered the top 40 the previous week at number 6. After two weeks in the top 10, the song slipped into the lower top 40 for the final three weeks of its chart life.
Rebel rebel was released on the RCA record label and was the eighth top 10 hit for David Bowie in the UK. It was included on the album Diamond dogs, which spent four weeks at the top of the UK album chart later in 1974.
