This week in 1984, That’s living alright by Joe Fagin was at its highest position of number 3 in the UK singles chart for the second of two weeks. It had entered the top 40 three weeks previously at number 18 and broke into the top 10 a week later. After falling from its peak position, the song spent another two weeks in the top 10 and then dropped into the lower top 40 for the final two weeks of its chart life.
That’s living alright was released on the Towerbell record label and was the only top 10 hit for Joe Fagin the the UK. It was written as the theme tune for the first series of the television programme Auf wiedersehen, pet and was also included on Fagin’s 1985 album Love hangs by a thread, which failed to enter the UK chart. The single was certified silver.
