Tiger feet by Mud replaced You won’t find another fool like me by the New Seekers at the top of the UK singles chart this week in 1974, having entered the top 40 the previous week at number 10. It was succeeded by Devil Gate Drive by Suzi Quatro after four weeks at number 1.
After falling from the top spot, the song spent two more weeks in the top 10, one of them in the top 5. A further three weeks in the lower top 40 followed before the record left the chart.
Tiger feet was released on the RAK record label and was the first of three UK number 1 hits for Mud. It was included on the gold-selling album Mud rock as part of a medley with Dyna-mite and The cat crept in. The album peaked at number 8 in the UK chart later in 1974 and the single was certified gold.
